Rainy days keep buyers away

Expect reduced showings during thunderstorms and other types of bad weather.  We had a rough night here in Central Illinois.  I woke up a few times to the thunder.  I woke up once from our 4th grader looking for shelter from the storm.  It is mucky and damp out.  Yuck!

Rainy weather usually means it is cold and muddy.  Buyers don't want to track mud into your nicely staged home.  Nor do they want to drag their children around bundled up in a blanket.  Be patient during these times of inclement weather.  It is probably a good thing if you get a break from showings, because otherwise you would have some extra cleaning to do.

If your Realtor has Analytics capabilities, you may find that more people are sitting at their computer looking for homes online while the rain pours down.  Keep a positive attitude and be patient.  The sun will come out tomorrow, and buyers will be looking again.

Hello, Friends.  Just listed!  $104,900.  1650 sq.ft. A cute 3 bed 1 bath home in Chatham, IL.  This home features a great yard.  The backyard is fenced and big enough to play with the kids for sure.  Or, you might have some dogs that need room to run.  There is also a 1 car attached garage, and a full basement.  The basement is partially finished, but it would not take much to have a fourth bedroom down there.

It is a great day to buy or sell a house.  A little cool compared to last week, but next week is looking nice and warm again.

Although the farmers might need the rain.  Showing houses is much easier with weather like this.  Nobody likes buyers tracking in mud!

Now is the time to get out there and see what is on the market before the spring rains come.
